Delaware Avenue History Trail
As part of the city's celebration of the 250th anniversary of the USA I put together a walking tour of 25 stops along Delaware Avenue, from the Wilmington and Brandywine Cemetery to Rockford Tower.
Part two covering Trolley Square and Forty Acres up through Rockford Tower will be published in December/January.
.........
Speaking of USA 250 and Wilmington, I strongly recommend this new book on Washington in Wilmington:
The author will be giving a talk at the Logan House on November 11th:
Trolley Square Revitalization Forum Fall Meeting- October 19th Monday October 19th - 6:30 to 7:30 @ Delaware Center for Horticulture
There will be a different format this time - 5 minute presentations by members of the various groups working on neighborhood improvement projects, including Dining on Delaware, Dupont St planters, Trolley Square Run club, anti-vacancy efforts, and so on.
The idea is to keep generating new momentum by bringing these groups together to brainstorm in a social way.
Fun Upcoming Social Events in October and Beyond
Howard Pyle Studio Happy Hours - open to public first Friday of every month with live music
Trolley Square Run Club - every Tuesday night meeting at Kelly's Logan House The Screening Room at 1313 - A hidden city gem of independent and foreign films.
Latest on Bancroft Rezoning Proposal
On August 18th, the City Planning Commission voted against recommending a rezoning to City Council. The most up to date developments are covered in the first part of this recent Spotlight Delaware article.
